Membership

The Association of Surgical Oncologists of Odisha invites qualified Surgical Oncologists and trainees from Odisha to become members and be part of a professional community dedicated to advancing cancer care, education, and research.

Membership is open to eligible individuals and is subject to approval by the Governing Body.

1. Life Membership

Life Membership is available to qualified Surgical Oncologists who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Hold an MCh or DrNB degree in Surgical Oncology, or
  • Have completed at least 3 years of formal training in Surgical Oncology from a recognized institute, or
  • Have been exclusively practicing Surgical Oncology for a minimum of 5 years
Membership Fee: Rs. 5,000/- (One-time)

2. Associate Life Membership

Associate Life Membership is intended for Surgical Oncology trainees.

Eligibility:

  • Currently pursuing MCh or DrNB in Surgical Oncology in the state of Odisha
Membership Fee: Rs. 2,000/- (One-time)

Validity: Associate Life Membership is valid for 3 years. Members are required to upgrade to Life Membership after obtaining their qualification by submitting their degree certificate.

Membership Approval

All membership applications are reviewed by the Governing Body. Applicants will be informed of their membership status after review. In case of non-approval, the reason will be communicated to the applicant.

  • Participation in academic meetings, conferences, and CMEs
  • Networking with Surgical Oncology professionals across Odisha
  • Eligibility to attend and participate in ASOO conferences and academic activities
  • Opportunity to contribute to academic, research, and organizational initiatives
  • Eligibility for leadership and organizational roles (Life Members)

Termination of Membership

Membership may be terminated under the following circumstances:

  • Voluntary resignation
  • Non-compliance with Society rules and regulations
  • Conduct detrimental to the Society's aims and objectives
  • Non-payment of dues
  • Legal disqualification or misconduct

The decision of the Governing Body shall be final and will be communicated to the concerned member.

  • Completed Membership Application Form
  • Proof of qualification or training
  • Proof of current institutional affiliation
  • Payment of applicable membership fee
