Vision

To be a leading academic and professional organization dedicated to advancing excellence in Surgical Oncology through education, research, innovation, and collaboration, with the ultimate goal of improving cancer care outcomes in Odisha and across India.

Mission

  • Promote academic excellence through regular CME programmes, workshops, and conferences.
  • Provide a collaborative platform for surgical oncologists, faculty, and trainees to share knowledge and experience.
  • Encourage evidence-based practice and adoption of modern surgical oncology techniques.
  • Support training, mentorship, and academic growth of residents and young surgical oncologists.
  • Improve cancer care standards through education, research, and collaboration.

Objectives

  • Organize academic activities including CMEs, conferences, workshops, and symposia.
  • Facilitate collaboration among surgical oncologists at state, national, and international levels.
  • Promote research and academic publications in Surgical Oncology.
  • Encourage academic excellence among trainees through awards and fellowships.
  • Disseminate updated knowledge and advancements in cancer surgery.
  • Promote awareness and education in cancer prevention and treatment.

Activities

Academic Programmes

ASOO conducts bi-monthly CME programmes focusing on recent advances in Surgical Oncology with participation from residents and faculty across Odisha.

Conferences

ASOO organizes biennial conferences featuring eminent national and state faculty, enabling academic exchange, skill enhancement, and networking.

Fellowship & Awards

The ASOO Fellowship Award recognizes the top three residents who demonstrate excellence in academic presentations and CME participation.

Professional Collaboration

ASOO promotes collaboration among cancer centres, academic institutions, and surgical oncologists to strengthen cancer care.

The Association is registered under the Societies Registration Act (No. XXI of 1860) with Registration No. 813/720202400099 (2024–2025) dated 10/09/2024.
