1. RULES & REGULATIONS :

NAME AND STYLE OF THE ORGANISATION: The name and style of the organization shall be called “ASSOCIATION OF SURGICAL ONCOLOGISTS OF ODISHA” (short form “ASOO”).
ESTABLISHMENT: The organization was established on 18th March 2023.
AREA OF OPERATION: The organization may operate and carry out work in any part of the State of Odisha.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To be followed as per the enclosed MEMORANDUM of the organization.
INTERPRETATION: This organization shall follow as per the rules provided in the Societies Registration Act XXI-1860.
DIRECTIVE BODY: The members elected or selected in the Annual General Body meeting shall be the Directive Body/Executive Body of this organization.

2. MEMBERSHIP :

The membership of the Society is open to any person who has attained the age of maturity and fulfils the terms & conditions of the Society but is subject to the approval of the Governing Body of the Society.

Note: If the Governing Body of the Society does not approve the membership, the reason for refusal shall be communicated to the person/applicant concerned.

Types of Membership:
a) Life Member:
b) Associate Member: (ASSOCIATE LIFE MEMBER)
3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP
a) Life member-
● Certified Surgical Oncologist having Mch/ DrNB degree or
● 3 years Surgical oncology training from a training institute or
● Those who are solely practicing surgical oncology of minimum 5 years of duration.

b) Associate Life member-
● Should doing Mch /DrNB in Surgical Oncology in the state of odisha.

DECLARATION OF MEMBERSHIP:
MEMBERSHIP AND FEES:
The membership fee shall be as under unless otherwise revised by the Governing Body of the Society.
o Life Member Rs. 5000/-
o Associate Member: Rs. 2000/-
TERMINATION OR CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP:

The Governing Body of the Society shall have the powers to expel/terminate a member or/and members, from the membership of the above Society, on the following grounds: (a) On death (b) On written resignation (c) If found to be involved in any anti-social activities (d) If adjudged by any court of law to be a criminal offender or unsound mind (e) If found guilty by means of anti-propaganda of Aims & Objects of the Society. (f) If fails to pay the subscription of contribution for three months from due date (g) If has not attended three consecutive meetings without prior intimation (h) If disregards Rules & Regulations or disobey the decision of the Society (i) Associate Life membership will be valid for 3 years. After that he/she has to upgrade to Life member by showing his/her degree certificate.

Note: The decision of the Governing Body of the Society regarding the termination from the membership of the Society, shall be communicated to the member concerned.

3. THE EXECUTIVE BODY DEFINED:

  1. The Governing Body shall mean the “Executive Body” of this organization constituted as provided by these Rules and Regulations. This Governing Body/Executive Body of this organization shall be Executive Members Committee, Council, Trustees, Directors, or another body to whom by these Rules and Regulations of this organization the management of these affairs is entrusted.

POWERS OF THE EXECUTIVE BODY:

The Executive Body of the organization is empowered to create situations for new employments to be engaged as necessary office bearers and elect or select suitable incumbents from amongst the Founder Members on a special priority basis, following with the attainment to other elected General Members. This Executive Body shall have to act on all such things required to carry out the objects of this organization in the General Meeting. This Executive Body shall also have the power by a simple majority of votes to make, vary, and repeal the Rules and Regulations for the transaction of business from time to time.

Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing powers, this Executive Body shall have the following powers for carrying out the objects of the organization:

  • Employ and procure such assistance of any personnel or staff either for remuneration or gratuitously and on such terms as the Executive Body may deem fit or to discharge or dismiss the same.
